About:
Corfu Police Officer and Darien Deputy Town Supervisor, David Krzemien, is announcing his candidacy for Genesee County Sheriff. David is seeking endorsement from all party lines. With more than 20 years of experience, David Krzemien proudly began his law enforcement career in Genesee County as a graduate of the Rural Police Training Academy housed at Genesee Community College. This foundational training opened the doors to many opportunities in the field of law enforcement. David proudly served the Western New York community as a police officer for the Niagara Frontier Transit Authority (NFTA). With jurisdiction in three counties, the NFTA Police Department secures the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport, Niagara Falls International Airport, and the Metro Bus and Rail system. During his time with the NFTA, he led the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) for 7 years, working closely with local, state and federal agencies and border and bridge patrol to monitor potential terroristic threats made to our border and homeland. He continued his role in the CTU when he was promoted to detective of the department. In this position, David worked alongside the FBI, DEA and DA’s office for 4 years. During his many years with the NFTA, he served as President of the Police Benevolent Association (PBA) Union for 3 years and served on the PBA Union Board for 7 years. David also worked part-time for the Blasdell Police Department, as a field training officer, court officer and detective for 14 years. Now retired from the NFTA, David is currently a part-time police officer for the Corfu Police Department and a seasonal deputy with the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department. David is also on the Darien Town Board, at this time holding the position of Deputy Town Supervisor. David and his wife, Michelle and their 5 children (Reed, Rachel, & Julia Pettys and Kyle & Trevor Krzemien) have lived in Genesee County collectively for over 30 years. David’s accolades include NFTA Police Officer of the Year (2013), Mechanic Union Representative for National School Bus Association, President of the PBA, Volunteer Youth Hockey Coach for 12 years, and providing dignitary protection for several United States Presidents.
